DIY Fall home decor

Image
Although I live on a Caribbean island, I like to observe seasonal changes and all the trends that go with it.  I also love crafting so I decided to make a couple of fall - themed craft items. Materials and instructions are as follows:                                   Materials Collect a corrugated cardboard box, a bamboo mat, cut another box in an L shape. You need wood glue, regular white glue, box cutter/craft knife (the other materials shown here were not used). Fake flowers, craft sticks, Krylon clear coating. Wrapping paper, spray adhesive, Megabond all-purpose glue.                                             Method Start by sticking the bamboo mat to the L shaped cardboard. Cover the corrugated cardboard box with wrapping paper. Attach the flowers to bamboo mat.  I used them to spell 'FALL'. Cover other part of L shape with wrapping or other colored paper. Stick L shaped cardboard to the corrugated

Geera Cassava?

Image
When I mentioned to my work colleagues that I made some Geera Cassava recently, there were echoes of 'Geera Cassava?!' Ok, so it may not be the most traditional meal. It was interesting to try.  I stumbled across the recipe on the Simply Trini Cooking website.  Here is the link to the recipe: http://www.simplytrinicooking.com/geera-cassava/#axzz3mFYB5ZdH My photos follow: Maybe you should give the recipe a try.  Thanks for reading!

MAC Viva Glam Miley II lipstick & Milani dupe.

Image
This photo is not mine MAC cosmetics launched the second Miley Cyrus named MAC Viva Glam Miley II.  It is a bright orange matte hue.  This photo is not mine As you may know by now (or not), I like to search for makeup dupes because gosh knows that I may not want to invest in a lipstick that I may not even use that often. So I just rummaged around in my makeup stash and found my Milani Mandarina lipstick.  It is also a bright orange hue, however it may be just a tad brighter than the Miley - named lipstick. You can compare photos of the two lipsticks below: This photo is not mine

Givenchy Ready to Wear Spring/Summer 2016 photos

Image
French designer Givenchy's show took place on the 11th September 2015 during New York Fashion Week.    Set in a warehouse type of surroundings, it seems as if the designer was inspired by lingerie, as well as a little bit of tribal art (check out the off-white outfits, one resembles reptile skin while another has gold spikes).  The dresses were lacy, some were partly translucent or transparent.  Black and white were the main colors used . Some of the designs can be seen in the photos below. (These photos are not mine, they are taken from www.fashionisers.com )

August beauty haul (part 2)

Image
I definitely shopped for masks last month!  Three facial masks and an exfoliating foot mask.  Foot masks are useful if your job includes standing for long periods of time. Recently, I heard about Ambrosia cosmetics ( they are also made in Trinidad & Tobago).  So I bought four eye shadow shades from this brand.    The green looks interesting. In addition, I picked up some Sacha products. You can check out the photos below:

NYX, Pop beauty, LA Girl etc. August makeup haul (Part 1)

Image
Most of my haul in this post consists of Pop beauty cosmetics - found them on sale and found that the price was too 'surprising' to leave behind. Products are seen below: I've been stalking the LA Girl Glazed lip paints for a while, it would be interesting to try a different textured item on my lips. The NYX bronzer reminded me yet again that I need to buy more NYX products.  I will try to buy more of that brand next time. Part 2 of my August haul should be coming soon!
